An enormous crowd of over 4,500 people joined in the ninth annual NAMIWalks Minnesota, held Sept. 26 at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis and at the Community & Technical College field house in Rochester. There were more than 200 Walk teams and over $421,000 was raised! The event featured live music, picnics, team photos, resource tables, a kids tent, face-painters, a tree of hope, dance performances, a t-shirt contest and more. See photos. Team photos. There were over 200 walk teams and 4,000 plus walkers at this year's amazing celebration. The final total raised for NAMI's programs for children and adults with mental illnesses and their families was $397,108! Despite a persistent rain, nearly 3,000 walkers joined in the 7th annual NAMIWalks Minnesota held at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis on Saturday, Sept. 28. The 5K walk to increase public awareness of mental illnesses and support NAMI's programs of education, support and advocacy raised more than $341,000! NAMIWalks was also held at the Community & Technical College in Rochester on the same day. Thanks to everyone for donating, joining in and celebrating hope together at NAMIWalks. See Photos. The 2011 NAMIWalks Minnesota was spectacular! More than 3,200 participated and raised over $319,000! St. Cloud Area NAMI also held NAMIWalks on Sept. 24, drawing 300 people and raising nearly $15,000.
