NAMI Training Approved for Police Credits

Law enforcement officers may now receive 3.0 credits from the Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board upon completion of NAMI Minnesota’s training for criminal justice staff. Officers learn about the signs and symptoms of mental illnesses, de-escalation strategies, and community-based resources officers can use to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.  For information contact Anna McLafferty, criminal justice project director, at 1-888-NAMI-Helps, or amclafferty@nami.org.
