Working to improve the lives of children and adults with mental illnesses and their families
NAMI Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.
A new family support group started in Breckenridge on Feb. 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Breckenridge United Methodist Church, 910 Main Street. It meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. For information, contact Mark at 605-359-9480.
A new group also began meeting in New Ulm on March 2. It meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 6:00-7:30 p.m., at Brown Co. Human Services, 1117 Center Street. For information, call Mary at 507-276-5936 or Teresa at 507-217-1121.
