Internship Opportunities

NAMI offers limited part-time, unpaid internships during the fall, spring, and summer terms for individuals wishing to gain hands-on experience in the fields of non-profit administration or public policy. Join us in eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illnesses, effecting positive changes in the mental health system, and increasing the public and professional understanding of mental illnesses as a NAMI intern!

Internships at NAMI Minnesota last 3-4 months in duration, and average between 10 and 15 hours per week. Schedules are arranged between the direct program supervisor and internship candidate, and though start/end dates are generally flexible, interns are required to commit to a consistent weekly schedule for a minimum of 12 weeks.

To Apply: Please submit the standard NAMI  Volunteer Application online and attach a cover letter and current resume. If you are looking to complete an internship for credit, please also include details regarding your school’s internship requirements.

The following list breaks down the standard potential Internships offered at NAMI Minnesota. Please note that due to staffing and workflow, not all internships may be offered at any given time. Applicants are welcome to propose alternative internship ideas, which will be considered by the management team.
